Talbots is a leading American brand that offers classically elegant clothing for women. Nancy and Rudolph Talbots opened their first Talbots store in 1947 in Hingham, Massachusetts. In 1948 Talbots launched a direct mail campaign and distributed over 3,000 leaflets to addresses of people which received from The New York magazine. This campaign was successful and Talbots slowly but surely found its first loyal women customers. The company grew from year to year until 1973 married couple Talbots decided to sell the brand to General Mills and enjoy a well-earned rest. Since then, the company has opened another 500 boutiques in the United States and Canada. The brand has become one of the most popular among American women, and there is perhaps none of them that would never shop in Talbots.
